The crew of a bulk cargo service that was broken in a missile assault by Yemen’s Houthi rebels within the Gulf of Aden has deserted the ship, the US army stated Saturday.

The Houthis have been focusing on vessels within the Pink Sea and Gulf of Aden since November 2023 in assaults they are saying are in solidarity with Palestinians throughout the Israel-Hamas conflict within the Gaza Strip.

These assaults surged this week.
