Discussions are happening between Altman and at least one board member, report said.
Former CEO Sam Altman is in discussions with OpenAI’s board aiming to return as the CEO of the AI startup, according to a report by Bloomberg News. The discussions involve Altman and at least one board member, Adam D’Angelo, and it is possible that he could return as a director on a transitional board, mentioned the report.
OpenAI has not yet responded to a Reuters request for comment.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella expressed his openness to OpenAI staff remaining at the company or joining Microsoft, stating that governance changes are needed at the ChatGPT maker regardless of Altman’s future position.
