The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has seized 173 kg of narcotics from an Indian fishing boat and detained two crew members on board the vessel off the Gujarat coast, an official stated on Monday.
The ICG and Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) apprehended the fishing boat in a joint operation within the excessive seas on Sunday afternoon, the coast guard stated in a launch in Ahmedabad.

The seizure comes a day after the ICG, ATS and Narcotics Management Bureau (NCB), in a joint operation, recovered heroin value Rs 600 crore from a Pakistani boat with 14 crew members.
In line with official sources, a complete of 173 kgs of Cannabis (extracted from hashish) together with two Indians have been caught as a part of a joint operation.
“Primarily based on particular and credible intelligence inputs from the ATS, the ICG strategically deployed its ships and plane, making certain that the boat doesn’t evade the sea-air coordinated surveillance,” the discharge stated.
The boat was intercepted after its correct identification, and investigations confirmed that the 2 accused individuals had been concerned in smuggling round 173 kg of medicine, it stated.
