Mumbai:
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Company (BMC), India’s richest civic physique, on Friday offered a Rs 59,954.75 crore finances for the 12 months 2024-25.
The budgetary estimates this time are 10.5 per cent greater than the 2023-24 quantity of Rs 54,256.07 crore.
The civic administration offered the finances to municipal commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, who was appointed as BMC administrator by the state authorities after the five-year time period of corporators led to March 2022.
“The finances estimates for the monetary 12 months 2024-25 are proposed at Rs 59,954.75 crore, which exceeds the finances estimates of 2022-23, that’s Rs 54,256.07 crore, by 10.5 per cent,” mentioned the finances doc.
That is the second time after 1985 that the BMC administration has offered the finances to an administrator because the five-year time period of its corporators has ended.
